FARMERS SUICIDES IN INDIA
AGRICULTURE IS THE MAIN OCCUPATION IN INDIA. 60% OF THE INDIA’S POPULATION IS DEPENDED ON AGRICULTURE EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.WE DEPEND ON THE FARMERS FOR OUR FOOD BUT WE ARE NOT GIVING PROPER SUPPORT TO OUR FARMERS.
IT IS A DISGUSTING SITUATION THAT FOR EVERY 12 HOURS ONE FARMER IS COMMITING SUICIDE IT IS SUCH A PATHETIC SITUATION THAT WE ARE LOOSING OUR PRIDE BY LOOSING OUR FARMERS.
THE WHOLE FAMILY DEPENDING ON THE FARMER IS BECOMING HELPLESS.
IF THIS SITUATION GOES ON i.e. THE FARMERS ARE COMMITING SUICIDES IN THIS WAY IT IS SURE THAT WE ARE GOING TO FACE MANY PROBLEMS.
IT IS NOT ABOUT US BUT ONCE ALL OF US HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THE PROBLEMS FACED BY FARMERS AND HOW THEY ARE WORKING HARD FOR US AND THE WAY WE ARE TREATING THEM.
EVERY ONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.FARMERS SUICIDES HAVE INCREASED FROM THE LAST TEN YEARS.
SUICIDE GRAPH FOR LAST TEN YEARS:
CAUSES:
NO RAINS :
IN SUCH A CASE THE FIELDS SHOULD BE SUPPLIED OF ADEQUATE WATER REQUIRED FOR THE CROP FROM RESERVOIRS AND OTHER WATER SOURCES LIKE LAKES,RIVERS etc,… BY USING MORTORS AND ENGINES . BUT THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY AVAILABLE TO OPERATE SUCH MORTORS.
NO PROPER SEEDS:
FAKE SEEDS ARE BEING SUPPLIED TO THE FARMERS WHICH ARE OF NO USE AND THERE IS NO CROP.
NO PROPER RATES TO THE PRODUCT:
EVEN IF THERE IS A GOOD YEILD OF THE CROP THERE WILL BE NO REASONABLE RATE FOR THE CROP. IN SUCH CASES THE FARMER HAS TO SELL THE CROP FOR LOSSES i.e. THE AMOUNT LESS THAN HE INVESTED TO GROW THE CROP.IN THIS CASE THE FARMERS ARE BURNING THEIR CROPS BECAUSE THEY CANT SELL FOR LOW PRICE AND EVEN THEY CANT BARE THE TRANSPORT COSTS.
NO PROPER YIELD:
THE PESTS AND SOME INSECTS WILL FEED ON THE CROP AND SPOIL THE CROP.
SO THERE WILL BE NO PROPER YIELD. AND THE FARMER CANNOT INVEST FOR THE PESTICIDES AND INSECTICIDES.
NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE GOVERNEMENT:
THE FARMER REQUIRE SOME MONEY TO INVEST FOR THE CROP . IN CASE IF THERE IS NO MONEY TO INVEST THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT PROVIDING A SUPPORT . SO THEY ARE TAKING DEBTS AND THE INTERESTS ON THE DEBTS ARE GOING ON INCREASING AND FINNALY THEY ARE COMMITING SUICIDES SINCE THEY CANNOT BARE THE STRESS OF REPAYING THE DEBTS.
LACK OF LABOURERS TO HELP IN FIELDS.
MIDDLE MEN TAKING PROFITS :
THE MIDDLE MEN BETWEEN THE FARMERS AND THE PUBLIC CHARGE HIGH RATES FOR THE CROP AND BUY FROM THE FARMERS FOR LOW COST AND SELL FOR HIGH COST THEY ARE GETTING BENIFITED WITH PROFITS INSTEAD OF THE FARMERS WORKING HARD.
THIS IS WHAT THE TRUE SITUATION HAPPENING IN OUR COUNTRY AND ESPECIALLY IN OUR STATE AND WE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.
SOLUTIONS:
-PROVIDING ELECTRICITY FOR THE SUPPLY OF WATER TO THE FIELDS.
-PROVIDING BETTER SEEDS AND ALSO INTRODUCING SOME SCIENTIFIC METHODS TO IMPROVE THE YIELD.
-INCREASING STORAGE FACILITIES FOR STORING THE CROP.
-PROVIDING REASONABLE RATE FOR THE CROP.
-GIVING LOANS TO THE FARMERS FOR INVESTING.
-DIRECTLY SELLING THE CROP TO THE CONSUMERS WITHOUT ANY INVOLVEMENT OF MIDDLE MEN.
Concrete buildings, factories, roads and electrical power projects shrinks fertile agriculture land day by day and thousands of farmers are made homeless in the name of development with little compensation we should not forget that agriculture is the back bone of this country and it is the right for every citizen to get food in an affordable price.
So it’s very important to teach the young generation the importance of agriculture and make them interested to do agriculture jobs also and make a platform for farmers to live a decent life for the prosperity and development of our country.

DR.HIMA SEKHAR , he is a legend because he is living in our lives even after his death. He is the person who is responsible for making our dreams come true by establishing our college “ DVR & DR. HS MIC COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY”.

DR.HIMA SEKHAR , he is a legend because he is living in our lives even after his death. He is the person who is responsible for making our dreams come true by establishing our college “ DVR & DR. HS MIC COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY”.
IT IS THE MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY STUDENT OF OUR COLLEGE TO KNOW ABOUT HIM AND TO THANK HIM FOR GIVING SUCH A WONDERFULL CAREER TO ALL OF US.
DR.HIMA SEKHAR was born on 26-7-1957. He secured first rank in the intermediate examinations held by the board of intermediate exams during the year 1971-1973. He passed B.E(B.TECH) with distinction in A.U COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING in Visakhapatnam during the years 1973-1978. He got two gold medals for getting highest percentage of marks in his branch study (mech) . He got many laurel and his greatest achievement is getting 100% marks in M.TECH(heat and mass transfer) from IIT KANPUR.
He served as a faculty in mech department in A.U. his insatiable thirst for knowledge and his relentless pursuit of excellence made him to be an intellectual in the world. He went abroad to USA and received his Ph.D from penSlvenia university . He established a company AC TECHNOLOGY in ITHACA and served as its director of research and development. He published 125 articles in various journals of international repute ,also a member of Board of studies and academic councils of various universities if USA and he was reviewer of several journals including ASME of international reputation in engineering and technology. This is a great honour bestowed on an INDIA . He visited many countries like france, England ,canada,japan,china etc,..
The career of DR.HIMA SEKHAR came to an end on 29th march 1995 when he was 37 years old.. He was died on a road accident in U.S.A.DR.HIMA SEKHAR is the inspiration for to establish these institutions including our college by his family members and friends.it is because of him we are studying in our college.
HE IS THE PERSON IN ALL OUR LIVES . HE IS GIVING LIFE TO MANY STUDENTS AND LIVELIHOOD TO MANY PEOPLE. A GREAT SALUTE TO HIM. AND LET US SHOW OUR GRATITUDE TO HIM BY EARNING A GOOD NAME AND FAME TO OUR COLLEGE.

Many times I used to listen a common sentence that “India is still a developing Nation”. I used to question many people about their views on why is our Nation still a developing one. The answers I find out are many and each and every one has their own views. In this article I just want to present my own views by listening to all their points and I hope everyone may justify it.
As I exclaimed in my title that the fight for existence which means that: India was independent about 65 years ago. From the day of independence till date we used to find many astonishing and devastating things happening in our great Nation. I just want to point some of the points I do know and I do think that affected our Nation below:

From the day of independence till date we used to find many astonishing and devastating things happening in our great Nation. I just want to point some of the points I do know and I do think that affected our Nation below:
- Firstly, India is politically independent but not socially and economically.
- The population which was 36 crores at the time of independence has increased to 121 crores this day. So the people has no time to think of the others and nation because they have been starting their life as a running race.
- Our educational system has no moral and ethical values.
- Corruption has changed its form to common thing in which each and every one are trying to exploit. (No one is exceptional in this case, even I.)
- The run of people for social status.
This all form a side of a coin and we too have many advantages. Here makes me remember you all one famous quote:
“We could not find holes on the surface of the earth from the top of a hill.”
It applies to each and every Nation.
Here I conclude by saying that there is no developed Nation in this world. What we all find in other countries are the places but not the real things.
